What is Melatropin®-I?

Melatropin®-I is a scientifically engineered dietary supplement formulated to condition the skin before tanning. It primes melanogenesis, enhances epidermal antioxidant capacity, and prepares the skin to tolerate UV exposure with greater efficiency and uniformity.

The Science

Melatropin®-I delivers L-tyrosine, the amino acid precursor for melanin biosynthesis, paired with copper, a critical cofactor for tyrosinase, the rate-limiting enzyme in melanogenesis. This dual input ensures substrate and enzymatic activity are nutritionally supported.

To counteract oxidative stress generated by UV irradiation, the formulation integrates vitamin C and vitamin E, which synergistically recycle each other and stabilize membrane and cytosolic compartments. A broad spectrum of carotenoids (lutein, zeaxanthin, lycopene, astaxanthin) accumulate in skin tissue, functioning as singlet oxygen quenchers and lipid-phase antioxidants that attenuate ROS propagation.

French maritime pine bark extract (Pinus pinaster, procyanidins 65–75%) contributes polyphenols with clinical evidence for raising minimal erythema dose (MED), reducing erythema intensity, and enhancing cutaneous microcirculation.

Together, these mechanisms converge to prime melanogenesis, augment skin’s antioxidant defenses, and condition epidermal structures to better withstand UV exposure while facilitating a more uniform tanning response.

How To Use

Take 2 capsules once daily with a meal containing fat. For optimal results begin taking Melatropin®-I at least 4-6 weeks prior to consistent sun or UV exposure and continue throughout tanning periods

Melatropin®-I does NOT replace topical sun protection. Use an appropriate sunscreen for optimal UV protection.
